Having lived in Salisbury for some time I find I am very priveliged that I have so many amazing walks and ancient sites to look at whether its Stonehenge, the fantastic bridal ways that crisscross huge areas of Wiltshire’s gorgeous countryside, or the amazing Sarum castle which hosts jousting and re-enactments at different times of year.
Salisbury is also place of the Salisbury International Arts Festival at the last part of May through to the beginning of June which always has some fantastic performances and great activities lined up for people needing to take part. If you are able to travel however and don’t want to wait till then I know there is the Budapest Spring Festival coming up at the end of March at the beginning of April that would be of worth a look with an equally dramatic ancient city.
Wiltshire is known for its walks and biking routes with some fantastic landscapes to travel through. Some of the roman roads takes you all the way down to Cornwall which enables people on a shoe string to jump on their cycle and ride. As we gradually move in the direction of spring time the quantity of gorgeous hot air balloons flying through the sky increases, with most offering the ability of people booking for a ride.

The historical side of Salisbury and the locality has been further refined by the efforts of the fantastic archaeological team that is situated on the outside of Salisbury. With one of its members on the team of the renowned “Time Team” from channel 4, they are gradually stripping back the layers hiding what has been before us. Many of their finds can be viewed in the Salisbury Museum which has a brilliant collection of historical items.
You can discover information about the area by going into the Salisbury visitor information centre and talking to the people there, they will help inform you of things that are happening at the time, or point you in the right route if you need to see specific items in the locality.
